iQQ is a QQ client Mac users. I developed it since I have to communicate with my friends who are mostly using a windows and using QQ as their default IM software.

 

Though iQQ can only support basic chatting features, it is now used by most chinese mac users to communicate with their  QQ buddies in windows.  You may ask why I didn’t try to support advance features for QQ, such as file transfer, video and audio call? I have to say QQ’s protocol are not so good designed and is changing all the time, I have no time to follow up with a unstable protocol. Most of all, it is binary based, while the industry’s trend is using text based protocols, such as XML, SIP and so on.

    

It is almost two years since I begin to develop iQQ. Just like isQ is replaced by iQQ, iQQ will be replaced other more powerful IMs, LumaQQ for Mac, Adium 1.0, or my new developed iStorm? Who knows it.  Users are the God, they will decide which one he like best to use^_^

2004. 9 the first version of iQQ is released

2005. 7 iQQ fails to work since TM change their protocol

2005.9 iQQ updated to QQ protocol 2005.

2007. 1 iQQ stop developing.
